Preparation and Placement
Preparation and Placement is the 14-month academic component of The Steppingstone Program.
When Scholars start their first summer session, they begin a challenging, stimulating, and rewarding
experience that often changes their entire outlook on education. With daily classes in English, math, science, social studies, writing, and study skills, they sharpen their ability to think critically and make important discoveries about the value of education.
The 14-month academic component is comprised of three parts:
- Summer Session I
- School Year Session
- Summer Session II
Partner Schools

The number of participating placement schools has grown to include approximately 30 Philadelphia- area independent, religious, charter, and magnet college preparatory schools where Steppingstone graduates continue to progress toward their bright futures.
